Remember this? U96 - Club Bizarre
I used to think this video was so darn freaky and kinda scary. Now I think it's freaking awesome! It's such a strange dreamy mix of the colors, the Oz like figures, the music and rhythm. It totally captures that specific musical period of the 90s and brings a lot of memories and emotions back. Enjoy this little flashback!
Dream Dream Dream
I'm getting really impatient for spring to arrive. It's still much too cold here and I have to wear about three layers of sweaters to stay warm when I'm outside. And my normally very cute and fashionable trapper hat has to be tied firmly around my face to warm my cheeks so I end up looking like dork. So when I'm on my way to work I just dream away to a warmer climate and picture myself wearing amazing summery outfits and having a blast with my fiance on some future vacation. Part of my daydream is carrying one of the fantastic Buffalo Girl bags from spelldesigns.com. They are handmade and I want one bad! Buffalo Girl makes amazing navajo inspired pieces and I can't wait to see what else they have planned for this summer. Spelldesigns.com also stock other very cool desert chic items that are making their way to my wishlist.

Happy Monday!
I'm back after a nice relaxing weekend. After seeing too many episodes of Hoarders I decided to clean out some boxes in the basement and it felt soooo good. Out with the old, in with the new! I'm not really a pack rat and my apartment is nice and clean, but I still feel I need to sort things out once in a while. I'll accumulate so much stuff during my lifetime that I need to make sure I let things go from time to time, even though they are stored in nice plastic boxes in the basement, out of sight and out of mind. It's a good life exercise as well, to let some things go, be it people in your life, hobbies, routines, food you eat, whatever, just change things up a bit and try something new instead.
I've also spent time this weekend reading a lot (blogs, books, magazines) and most importantly relaxing with my fiance and spending some quality time together. It's very important to set off some time for eachother and make it a priority. Especially since we both have busy work lives and lots of different hobbies. Mine are all creative in some manner, be it decorating, illustrating, writing blog posts or taking photos. I love to explore new fields and I'm constantly searching for new ways to have fun and be creative.
I also had a little girl time with an old friend last friday. We went to dinner at one of my favorite vegetarian restaurants. It was nice seeing her again and talking about old times, and it made me realize that no matter how much a person changes and grows, the old you still remains hidden somewhere and often pops out even though you're not expecting it. I found myself giggling like a teenager and talking about silly things that happened when we went to school together. It was fun and relaxed and I'm glad I get to experience different parts of myself with different people. And to know that no matter how much I change and get older, I never completely lose the younger more innocent version of myself, as it's always there, hidden, lurking and waiting to pop out and giggle. I hope you all had a lovely weekend as well, and that you'll have an equally lovely week! Happy monday!

French Girls Rock: Le Blog de Betty
I have a little "collection" of French girl fashion blogs that I read religiously. They are my absolute favorites and I think it's about time I introduce them here on Poulet Poulet. I'll do a post for each of them and I'll start of with:
Meet Betty, the coolest chick in Paris. She's a super trendy fashion blogger with amazing raw style and a cute sense of humor. Unlike many other fashionistas she almost always smiles on her pictures, and I like that a lot. She's a very pretty girl that seems very forthcoming, and she has an amazing life that she likes to share with all her readers. She travels a lot so besides fashion you can expect to see many photos from her adventures abroad. She's very classy and so is her photos, which makes this the go to blog if you want relevant style updates from a down to earth rock chick Parisian.

Photo Diary: Summer in Las Vegas
My fiance and I went to Las Vegas in August and I simply have to share this extrodinary experience here. We'd never been there before so it was new to the both of us, and we found it to be so much different from any place we've ever been. We stayed at the wonderful MGM Grand where we shared a gorgeous Bungalo Suite. We had a spectacular view and our bed was huge and very comfy. Paradise City was everything I was hoping it to be. As a graphic designer I found myself drooling over all the huge neon typographic wonders everywhere, as well as the general visual experience of walking down the strip, looking at the mountains in the horizon, and being blinded by all the glitz and glam the city had to offer. Everything was very exciting and there were so many things to do. The most special experience for me was the desert and the Grand Canyon. I'd never been in a desert before and it was breathtakingly beautiful. I especially loved the Joshua Trees along the road and the wild cattle resting beneath them. I'd definitely recommend Las Vegas to anyone who wants a fun and diverse vacation. And there's lots more to do there than gamble, though we did try a lot of fun slot machines as well as a couple of rounds of poker. Here is some of the visual eye candy I captured on our first day there:
