Style Icon: Elizabeth Taylor R.I.P.

Today the world lost a talented, charitable and beautiful woman, who made a huge impact on everyone around her. Elizabeth Taylor was a sassy and classy woman who knew what she wanted, be that diamonds, men, or movie roles. I remember when I was a kid I saw her in Ivanhoe and thought she was the most beautiful woman ever. The dark curls framing her face, her marked eyebrows above her clear blue eyes. She was one of a kind and will be greatly missed. I always feel sad when we lose one of the greats, those who were there during Hollywood's golden age. I've always been a huge fan of classic movies and hope that people will continue to appreciate them. RIP Alexander McQueen

You've all probably heard about the untimely death of fashion designer Alexander McQueen. I was on the train today on my way to Sweden for a little adventure, when I noticed the headline on a newspaper someone had left on the seat next to me. It was in Swedish but I understood it well enough to know that the fashion industry as well as McQueen's family and friends, have suffered a great loss. So I'd like to take just a moment to remember and honor Alexander McQueen and his imaginative and creative life. RIP.

RIP J. D. Salinger

I want to dedicate today's post to a wonderful author who wrote one of my favorite books, The Catcher in the Rye. I was only a teenager when I read it the first time and it made an immense impression on me, and I know I'm not the only one. RIP.
