I am first and foremost and illustrator and right now I'm enthralled by the work of New York artist Julie Heffernan. She does the most amazingly intricate and surreal self portraits I've ever seen. I'd love to see her work translated into fashion, maybe as prints or runway designs.

Right now I'm home watching TV and just came across Denmark's Next Top Model. I'm feeling really embarrassed that my country can't produce better TV. It's the lamest thing I've ever seen and it should be canceled immediately. I'd rather sit and stare into a wall that watch that crap. OMG. I have however been enjoying many of the new American shows that have just premiered. I have a few favorites so far: there's New Girl featuring a cute and quirky Zooey Deshanel, Terra Nova which has a good mix of sci-fi and dinosaurs, and A Gifted Man which is a modern medical drama and ghost story. Then there are my regulars, Gossip Girl, Fringe, Big Bang Theory and The Lying Game. Lot's of good TV for me this fall!

I've been following all the Fashion Week shows on my phone from bed and boy there are a lot of yummy goodies in there that I can't wait to wear next year. Yesterday was the House of Holland show and it was brimming with candy pastels, plaid Clueless skirts, buttoned collars, animal prints, and sheer fabrics. One of my favorite shows so far.

I'm home in bed feeling pretty sorry for myself, and have been for a week now. I was in a go cart crash last Saturday and it was so bad that I have to stay in bed for at least a week, more if my back pains don't subside. Right now it's not looking good as I can hardly bend it, let alone sit at a desk. On top of that I've been lucky enough to catch a cold and sore throat as well as having fevers. So yeah, I feel pretty sorry for myself. Right now I'm watching Thelma and Louise and wow, what an incredible bad-girl road movie! I love the fashion, rugged, ripped, denim, yet feminine. Makes me miss driving through the Nevada and Arizona desert, passing by all the Joshua Trees and feeling the baking hot sun against my face. Definitely beats lying in bed watching meaningless TV, and having to stuff my face with painkillers to get through the day. Check out Geena and Susan below for must have desert gear.

I just found these gorgeous photographs by Iain McKell. I especially love the one of Lily Cole riding her bike down Portobello Road. She's definitely one of my favorite models. There are more photos of her here including childhood pics where you can see her posing like crazy which is really cute. I was a child model from ages 1-7 years and it was so much fun and I'm so glad I did it. I was in all the Danish magazines at the time and my mom bought them all in volumes and made a huge scrapbook for me. I'll post some of the pictures one day as they are really fun to look back on. It was a great way to get new friends and experiences, and afterwards we always went out and bought me a new My Little Pony for my collection. I have about 150 ponies from back then haha.

Sorry I haven't posted. I promise I'll be here again soon. Today I actually have no real excuse. I was gripped by a thriller TV show called Harper's Island and couldn't stop watching. It was on all day so I put my life on hold and just watched. And it was good. I'm feeling so guilty now haha.

Back from LA!

I'm back from the most amazing two week holiday in sunny Los Angeles, California! It was everything I hoped it would be and more. I've fallen head over heels in love with this wonderful city and my heart aches to go back and enjoy the sunshine, fluffy palm trees and have fun with all the amazing people there. I've had a blast and shopped so hard I could barely get my suitcases on the plane. I have so much to share and tons of pictures just waiting to be uploaded. Hopefully I'll get a chance to do it this weekend as I can hardly wait to show you all the different things I've seen and experienced. Yay LA!

The Lilac Wonder

I'm sorry for my lack of personal post lately. I'm just still tremendously busy all the time. Last Monday I bought my very first bike since I was a kid. It's a beauty, glittering lilac decorated with pink flowers. I've been biking every day since I got it with my boyfriend after work. We explore our area while I try to get better at cycling and keeping my balance. I'm also trying a new healthier diet, though sometimes a little sugar sneaks in, often in the form of pancakes with granola topping and syrup. Work is also very exciting at the moment and we're doing a lot of cool things I can't write about yet. So all in all I'm keeping busy and having fun. I'll be adding a photo diary soon so stay tuned for that.

So, I've had quite a busy few days and have barely touched a computer. Busy with what, you might ask. Well, I've been buried in a book that I started on a few weekends ago. It's call The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss and it is excellent. It's not entirely new, but I haven't been caught up reading a book like this in quite a while, so I really enjoyed immersing myself in another world without being glued to a TV screen as usual. I'm about to embark on a new adventure as I've just started the second book in the series and can't wait to get into it. Also, my Jeffrey Campbell Cosmic Litas arrived yesterday and they fit perfectly. They are damn hard to walk in, but they are so gorgeous that I just want them on my shelf looking pretty for now. They are works of art and I can't wait to wear them.

I've been trying to give in to most of my guilty pleasures lately and so far it's really paying off and I'm in a great mood because of it. Today I went shopping again with a friend, had a decadent warm apple pie, paged through the gorgeous Japanese Vogue, and watched my current girl show, Pretty Little Liars. It's like a modern day Twin Peaks and I just can't get enough of it. My advice for today: give into your guilty pleasures once in a while, and be sure to get some me-time even though you might have a hectic schedule and busy home life.

I just discovered these amazing leather/kilim boots from Kiboots that would be perfect for a summer in the desert and wandering the beaches of Los Angeles. If only I didn't have such weird feet that never seem to be happy with shoes unless they are extremely soft. I love vintage shopping, the hunt for that perfect unique item that just stands out and fits you perfectly. Going through racks of clothing, tables full of mixed jewelry, and finding that hidden treasure is just about as good as it gets when it comes to shopping. That's why I love browsing the walls of Supermarket Sarah. There's tons of stuff to go through but it's all nicely arranged on a wall with fun themes, AND it's digital and you can do it without ever leaving the couch. Cute stuff from Dorothy Perkins. I loved their summer colors and boho items. I bought a cute pink top there but I'll show you that later.

Rad top I found in Topshop. It didn't quite fit my body though. Too bad.

I feel head over heels in love with this vintage reworked leather jacket and it was so hard for me to leave it behind. It was too heavy for me and too big, but oh my gosh how I loved it.

I tried on tons of these Ragged Priest reworked tie dye pieces but they were all either huge on me or way too small. I might try making something like this myself if I can get my hands on some dye. Any tips on where to get it?
